A mission driven nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing the leadership of women and nonbonary professionals in the visual arts, headquartered in New York City, is looking for a part-time Development and Grants Manager to join their team.  This position will work closely with the Executive Director to create and implement a fundraising strategy that includes individual, government, corporate, and foundation giving, sponsorship, and other donations.  This position requires someone who is organized, and a great researcher and writer.  They need to be familiar with how to administer and run the wide variety of funding streams that together support a not-for-profit, from events to major gifts, with particular interest in someone who has experience working with major grant institutions like the National Endowment for the Arts.  The successful candidate will be a great storyteller, familiar with CRMs, who has a flair for data and can prepare a well-honed report.  3-5 years of professional experience in non-profit fundraising required, preferably with some membership experience.

Hourly Wage: $30 - $40

An auction house with offices around the world is looking for a Vintage and Luxury Timepieces Specialist to be located in either their Chicago or Los Angeles offices.  The successful candidate will be comfortable with the full cycle of auction activity including the vetting of condition and authentication of property, building relationships, generating and responding to leads, as well as participating with catalogue production and sales, with a focus on acquiring consignments of fine timepieces including antique pocket watches, vintage wristwatches and high end modern watches.  At least 5-years of experience required as a watch dealer and/ or in a major auction house working environment with a focus in watches and fine timepieces.

A bespoke auction house in Chicago is looking for a Department Lead for their Fine Books & Manuscripts category. Reporting to the company President, the Department Lead plays a pivotal role in advancing the company’s Book Department. The primary focus of this position is to drive growth by expertly cataloging auction inventory, securing new consignments for future book auctions, and effectively managing one direct report.  A minimum of five-years of professional experience required in selling Fine and Rare Books at auction, or a minimum of seven-years in a similar retail operation, demonstrating a deep understanding of the industry and market dynamics.  Alternatively, a minimum of five-years of academic experience related to cataloging Fine and Rare Books, showcasing expertise in research, cataloging standards, and archival practices would also be welcome.  Ideally, the successful candidate will have a contagious passion for their area of expertise bringing with them an existing network of clients.

A conservation studio in Chicago is seeking an Office Manager/ Bookkeeper to join their team.  The successful candidate will perform various accounting, production scheduling, human resource, and administrative tasks. This detail-oriented role requires excellent data entry, technology, and communication skills. The selected applicant is analytical, a problem solver, and can prioritize and manage their time.  Bookkeeping knowledge is required with a minimum of three years’ experience in accounting, office administration, and/or production scheduling.  A general interest in art conservation, art history, or fine art is preferred.

An appraisals firm in New York is looking for an Appraiser of Fine Art to join their dynamic team.  The successful candidate will be responsible for cataloguing, research, valuation, review of independent contractor work, and review of property. In addition to being abreast of current market trends they are looking for a skilled appraiser who has a deep understanding of USPAP in Fine Art, as well as a curiosity for all the areas in which the firm appraises.  As a member of the company and in partnership with team members the Fine Art Appraiser will support all efforts to meet client needs and workload demands. They are also an active participant in the appraisal community, involved in industry networks and attending local, relevant networking and educational events.  As an integral team member working closely with a wide variety of international appraisers, this person will reliably and consistently communicate with all specialists as it pertains to expertise and questions that only another appraiser can answer. The person in this role will write, refine and be a part of the production of appraisal reports, ensuring consistency and compliance with IRS standards, USPAP and the Appraisers Association of American code of ethics.  This is a fully remote role with a technology forward company that requires being located within the five boroughs of New York City, to be on-hand for client site visits and regular meetings with company colleagues.  5+ years of relevant valuation and cataloguing experience in an auction house setting or similar is required.

Salary: $80,000 - $125,000

An auction house with offices around the world is looking for a Jewelry Specialist to be located in their Dallas office.  This is an expansion role for this growing category within the company.  The successful candidate will be comfortable with the full cycle of auction activity including evaluating jewelry, acquiring consignments, building relationships, generating and responding to leads, participating with catalogue production and sales.  At least 5-years of experience in an auction house preferred.  GIA Graduate Gemologist diploma and travel as needed to meet with clients and review property for potential consignment required.

Salary: $80,000 - $120,000

A gallery with locations on the West Coast seeks a Director of Sales and Artist Relations for their New York space.  This is a managerial role that will oversee projects, budgets and staff requiring excellent organizational and communication skills.  The gallery is looking for someone with a proven track record with closing sales.  Successful candidates must have a deep knowledge of contemporary art, a sensitivity to artists and their needs, and an ability to work effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.  Strong writing skills are necessary.  Regular travel is required.
